Amazon now offering Prime Video as a standalone subscription service

Amazon generic

Can’t afford Amazon Prime’s yearly subscription fee all at one or simply don’t care for Prime’s free 2-day shipping? You can now subscribe to Amazon Prime Video for just $8.99 per month. This allows you to enjoy the full Amazon Prime Video library on a monthly basis without the $100 upfront yearly subscription that’s typically required for Amazon Prime. Yes, it will be more expensive if you end up paying for Amazon Prime Video for a full 12 months, but you also have the option to suspend your subscription one you’re all caught up on your favorite Amazon Prime shows.

We’re not exactly sure who in their right mind would choose this option and forgo Amazon Prime Shipping, but we’re sure there are more than a few budget-constrained Amazon customers who would rather pay the monthly charge rather than the lump sum for the full year.
