Instagram adds keyword moderation tool to block comments using certain words

With any social network, you’re going to see a few bad apples. Because Instagram is far less personal than a site like Facebook, you’re likely going to see a lot of strangers liking and commenting on your content. To help keep Instagram pleasant for its users, Instagram has launched a tool to filter comments with certain keywords. You can use Instagram’s list of keywords and add your own. This will only apply to your content and is purely optional to use.

While many will cry censorship, this isn’t a bad idea. If someone doesn’t want to see certain comments, they can filter them out only on their own content. We’ll see how well it works and how people react to its use. What are your thoughts on this new feature? Leave a comment!
