Sprint has announced that it is acquiring a 33 percent stake in Tidal as part of a new partnership between the two brands. The significant aspect of the partnership is exclusive content specifically for Sprint customers. Tidal and its artist partners will release content exclusively for Sprint customers, giving them access to music, videos, interviews and more.
Tidal is notable for exclusive releases, with prime examples such as The Life of Pablo by Kanye West and Lemonade by Beyonce. Though the company has exclusive content, it has also struggled to stay relevant against competitors such as Spotify. With this partnership, Tidal is clearly hoping to lure in new subscribers.
