Instagram users have probably seen some advertisers take advantage of the Carousel feature, which allows them to upload up to 10 photos and videos into a single post. This is a must-have feature for heavy users, but it’s been missing for the general populace for a couple of years. That is finally changing, as Instagram has officially announced that the Carousel feature is rolling out to all users beginning today.
With the Carousel feature, users will be able to upload up to 10 photos and videos into a single post, which will also help to cut down on spamming a stream with content to those who follow you. Instagram says it will also help users tell a more complete story, as users will no longer have to select just a single photo or video at a time.
To upload multiple photos or videos, simply selects the new icon that looks like a stack of photos, then choose up to 10 for the single post. You can also touch, hold, and drag a photo or video to place it in a specific order. Instagram does note that, at least for now, these Carousel posts will only be capable of showing a single single caption and location tag, and they are “square-only.”
For Carousel posts, a series of small blue dots will appear below the post, identifying that they can be swiped through to see the full collection. Instagram says the new update is rolling out today.
How often do you use Instagram? Is this a feature you’ve wanted to see added for some time?
