If you have multiple Amazon Echo devices strewn about the house, a coming update brings with it a new feature that may be very useful. The newest feature to come to the Echo lineup is an intercom system.
If every Echo in your house has a room name associated with it and has Drop-In enabled, you’ll be able to communicate with specific Echo units through either an Echo or the Alexa app. You’ll be able to talk to your family in another room without shouting, though shouting is arguably more fun. You’ll also be able to keep tabs on the people inside your house while you’re out, like your kids.
This feature is rolling out over the next few days and, though it will remove some privacy in the household, it may be very useful. How many of you are going to make use of this feature?
