YouTube announces new video sharing ‘messaging’ service

We all know that Google has too many messaging services. Rather than consolidating the various messaging services, each with its own benefits and pitfalls, the company has decided to introduce another one.

This isn’t a traditional messaging service, though. Rather it’s a new way to share YouTube videos with your friends through the YouTube app. Instead of hitting the share button and messaging your friends a link through another app, you can do it directly inside the YouTube app. Your friends can then reply with their own videos or just chat about what they saw. It’s not quite a replacement for Facebook Messenger, but it’s an interesting idea.

I think it’s a good idea, though having to use yet another messaging app is a pain. We’ll have to give it a shot before making a final judgement. Let us know what you think! Will you be using YouTube’s built in video sharing feature?
