Facebook Home is scheduled to launch later today for select Android devices, but one of the coolest new features of Facebook’s launcher is available right now. Today the standalone Facebook Messenger app was updated to include the new Chat Heads feature, which overlays Facebook messages on top of your Android experience.

Facebook just sent out invites for an Android related event next week, and TechCrunch is reporting that their sources say it will be the often rumored “Facebook Phone.” All the Android blogs were invited to attend with message that read, “Come see our new home on Android.”
Back in late August of this year, we brought you a story on how Facebook was forcing its employees to switch to Android in order to get them to see just how bad the app was. We’ve seen nary an improvement to the Android Facebook app since then, but Facebook isn’t giving up.
