Samsung will not be outdone. Today at CTIA in Orlando, they unveiled their lineup of the world’s thinnest and lightest tablets. Measuring just 8.6 mm deep, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 will be thinner and lighter than the iPad 2.
Word of a price drop at Best Buy for the Sprint Galaxy Tab leaked out via some images last week, but Sprint has beaten Best Buy to the punch and now list their Galaxy Tab for $299 on contact and $499 without contract.

One of the more low-key announcements that came out of the Verizon 4G LTE conference was that in the first half of 2011, Samsung and Verizon will be launching a new version of the Galaxy Tab.
The updated Galaxy Tab will feature 4G LTE connectivity, and a 1.2 GHz Hummingbird processor.

This week Samsung finally announced the availability of the long-awaited WiFi-only Galaxy Tab. Best Buy accidentally advertised a WiFi-only version of the Tab last year for $499, but then fessed up that it was a mistake and the release date had been pushed back.

The Galaxy Tab has only been widely available for a few weeks in most of the 30 countries where it is currently sold and they have already moved 600,000 units. Samsung boldly pronounced that they would sell over a million by years end and they are easily on pace to meet or exceed that mark.
