The Moto G5 Plus is facing a very serious issue on Verizon’s VoLTE network. The device may not be able to call emergency services, which is a huge deal. There will be an update going out next week to fix this, but Verizon has a solution in the meantime.
Project Fi is now testing Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) technology with a subset of its customers. Since its inception, Project Fi has used the traditional approach of falling to HSPA when making a call. With VoLTE, call quality is improved, calls connect faster and data browsing is faster while in calls.

Mike Haberman, Verizon’s vice president of network support, is speaking out today on Verizon’s plans for its LTE network throughout 2015. According to Haberman, 2015 is going to be a big year for Verizon. Next year Verizon is planning changes and improvements to VoLTE, MIMO and spectrum refarming, and will introduce carrier aggregation.
