Android and Processing

I have an Arduino Uno R2 at home and I’ve slowly been going through O’Reilly’s “Getting Started with Arduino.” Via CreativeApplications.net, I found that the language used for Arduino, Processing, can be used to push applications straight to an Android device. On a side note, I’d love to find more ways to connect the Arduino to Android for fun tinkerings (like Android@Home).

Does anyone have tips using Processing to interact with the Android device’s sensors? My initial idea was to make some fun of simple visual and interactive application for my soon-to-be child to play on.

The demo and tuturial here is great, but I want to take things a step further. I’ve only created a ‘hello world’ type of application for android, but I’m comfortable in Java, so my mobile application experience is definitely in the novice stage.
