Galaxy S3: Revolutionary or mediocre?

So, now that we’ve all seen the specs, do you guys think it lived up to the hype? Or did Samsung pull an iphone 4s? Does the lack of the exynos 5 kill it for you?

It really doesnt have that many advantages over the htc one x, except for maybe some software tweaks/apps, but the design of the HTC One x wins it for me over the SGS3. IMO

  I personally feel the same. Between the screen and the industrial design, HTC gets the vote for my next phone. The GS3 didn’t meet my expectations and really feels like Samsung is treading water.

I think the gs3′s screen is better however. I’m a little disappointed by the gs3. I think that it’s slightly better than the one x, but it’s nothing special. Does anyone still maintain hope that the U. S. version will use the exynos 5?

    yeah, i’m completely at a loss to understand why they didn’t go with the 5250 (now known as the Exynos 5 dual). a really stupid move Samsung…

  It’s not asking too much if they have the exynos 5 ready to go! Samsung failed to use the hype to their advantage. I am strongly considering the one x for my next phone because i thought samsung would blow us away. But i’ll wait for the US version fof the gs3 to make a decision.

Hardware wise it could have been better, especially the screen. On the other hand, I like what they did with the software updates. They are finally using NFC and voice commands in a way that makes sense.

    I’d rather it had higher pixel density and a non-pentile display. Especially with a bigger screen such as this sharing of the sub-pixels may become an issue. The good news is it is super AMOLED (well it lacks the plus).
    
    The way I’m thinking about it is this: Samsung is clearly going after apple and I totally support them. And SIII is as good if not better in every aspect to the iphone yet their display, which many non tech people look at and see on the TV ads lacks the ppi. Samsung managed to get a good wave behind SIII and if they only had improved the screen a little bit more they could have done a lot more to apple.

The lack of ram kills me along with more bloatware that kills the ram faster. The rest is fine, although pentile is disappointing due to the grainy green effect.
