Method of obtaining an old version of a paid app?

Hey guys, I’m trying to find a way to get an older version of a paid Android app? I unfortunately don’t have a backup using titanium…I just lost the backup for a ton of my apps so unfortunately I can’t go down that route.

Swiftkey 3 used to be the best keyboard for me until they came up with the last update that swapped the ability to enter a new line with emoticons; a completely useless feature in my opinion. Anyway, that was the only change and it was adverse for me. Now I’m really desperate for a way to get a way to revert back a version.

Is there any legit ways of obtaining an old version of an app that I did pay already? thanks!

I think there is an app called Legacy Play store or something similar (this is included in Modaco MCR ROMS if not available in the market) although I’m not sure if it will be able to go to a specific version of a previously obtained app, but it will list all apps you have purchased in the past.

This app seems pointless to me, the Play store already keeps a log of all the apps you have ever downloaded. I can browse this list and find apps that are no longer in the store and it gives me the option to install them including apps which the developer has said was removed from the market or may not actually be compatible with my phone/OS version.

Hi…I have been using this method for years ; 1) you need to install AppSaver, 2) then install Easy Installer
Once you decide to back up all the apk on your phone with AppSaver..you can do the update of all applications you want from Google Play Store then if you need an older version you simply go to Easy installer and you will find the list of all your older applications.
If you need to re- create your ”Applications treasure” starting from ZERO just install Aptoide application and Getapk on your phone…..or go to GetApk web site and get all the applications you need.
If you need a specific application …just send your e-mail I will try to help you,

Hi, i want the old version of an app called “go sms pro”, messaging app. It got updated recently on Feb 12th 2015. Is there a way that i can get its previous version? Pls suggest…

    Contact the app developer.

Also, you can often find downloads for old revs of apps. Usually the links are shady because you aren’t paying for the app but since you have in the past then I don’t see an issue. If you know the rev number of the version you want then trying searching for that.

… or go to the “themes and apps” section for your phone on xda, or the general apps section and you should be able to find old version. If not, ask for it one of the swiftkey threads and someone will have it.

Really unfortunate that Play Store doesn’t offer you the ability to rollback to the last 2-3 versions. So many comments on apps about things broken or otherwise changed in updates they don’t like.

      Agret,

I totally agree with you. The Google Play Store should allow users to rollback to previous 2 to 5 versions. I am android developer myself.

      My app is at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ashok.tapecalc

Another option I can think of is have Android OS include an app with all phones that have this new Android OS. This way all phones have an app to rollback to unlimited versions from backup done locally on the phone itself.

There is titanium backup and several other app backup method…but it often requires manual input, which is easy to forget about until you need it. Nevertheless, I agree with you there should be something built into the OS or Playstore offers an options

Could you not leave a link in the description, to a holding page with the previous builds in.

Or maybe say that if you are a previous customer, to email you and you can issue a password time limited url, with previous builds. This way would prevent pirating, if a paid app.

        Just a thoufhf

I know you said “legit”, but imo the easiest way would be to goggle “swiftkey 3.2.1 apk: (replace 3.2.1 with the build number you want) and download and install the apk.

I’m NOT saying anyone should steal an app or apk – but in your instance you PAID for a license to that application already, all you’re doing is downloading one of the previous builds you already had access to, and you still hold a license to, so I see nothing illegal.

Try to check the http://www.androiddrawer.com/ or http://www.androiddrawer.com/10011/download-titanium-backup-%E2%98%85-root-6-0-4-app-apk/. But for the swiftkey I don’t think they already loaded it.
