What is everyone’s favorite launcher? and Why?

Everyone has their favorite, maybe not even your most recent. With so many to choose from sometimes it can be a little difficult.

  • Stock
  • ADW
  • Nova
  • Apex
  • Go
  • Holo

To name a few… So what do you use?
And don’t leave me hanging, tell me why you like it.

My favorite is Holo Launcher. I really like the clean look and customization.

LG Standard Launcher. Barely changes the original one, just adds some extra functionality. Never felt the need to change a thing.

  • kookeetree

Just using stock launcher here. Never felt I was missing/wanting any other function to go search for other launchers.

  • heynomi4u

I use GO launcher on my Gingerbread device (HTC Desire HD), Nova launcher on my ICS device (HP Touchpad) and I am planning to just use Apex/Nova/Holo on my Nexus 4 when I get my hands on it.

  • uknowme

I really love Seam. Very very light and free. Check it out.

    • decker

Never heard of this one. I will check it out.

Sorry stupid auto correct, I meant Zeam.

Been using GO for about 2 years now. I like that you can save a backup of your “Themes” and you can restore widgets and settings with a few clicks.

Transitions are smooth. Can clean up the clutter easily and just have the app drawer display custom grid sizes.

Recently, it has been updating a lot. I have not noticed much of a benefit, but the new GO Store notifications are pretty obnoxious,

I’ve used them all, really. My first was ADW back when I had a Droid X. I stayed with ADW on my Thunderbolt. When I got my Galaxy Nexus, I stayed with stock for a while, but I love to change my icons so now I’ve been using Nova.

I have tried several launchers (such as Nova, ADW, Go) and always end up removing them and going back to Trebuchet. I hate how those launchers have a 1000 options when one presses the menu button while at the home screen (Go Launcher is the worst in this perspective).

My favorite feature of Trebuchet is that its settings are tucked under an easy to reach place in the Settings app. Actually, that’s what makes me like CM9/10 better than AOKP, SLIM or anything else that gives me Android 4 on my phone: While there are many options, they are where they are expected to be. Which is the opposite of CM7 and AOKP.

i use the stock launcher on nexus devices. on other devices i would use a launcher that makes it feel like vanilla android:)

  • kelltrash14

Nova. Very close to stock, fast, and has some decent features.

  • pol biswas

Go is the best campare to others launchers because its smooth; slick and it has lots of themes .You can unstall unwanted application very easily.

  • digvijaya07

Apex n Nova Launcher Are best …

  • sandy105

i use nova paid ,because it has the stock like feel and speed;and is infinitely more customisable like gestures and unread counts nd ol.

  • sandy105

oh and for my nexus 7 i use the stock ;but i have found chameleon launche and TSF shell pretty enticing .but they need some more finishing :)

I’ve used Go for about 2 years, but now on my ICS Razr Maxx it seems kind of laggy and I’ve been considering trying out something else. I love how just about anything can be changed on Go – any suggestions for what might be a decent and fast alternative?

  • bdub

Apex Pro… Tons of options and it just always seems to run the smoothest for me. I also have the pay version of Nova which is a great launcher but occasionally ran into some issues with it so its on the bench at the moment.

  • Brandon Thomas

apex pro here on my toshiba thrive 10″ tablet. works great. was with EX for a little while, but once i upgraded to ICS that didn’t work out too well.

  • jonneves

Holo or GO – Both very neet!

  • sivart79

Using Nova on my Galaxy Nexus. Luke the simplicity and the options.

  • jonstle

I am currently addicted to Action Launcher. Not a lot of tweaking allowed with it yet but it gives me quick access to the things I care about – Apps and voice actions.

    It is also very quick.

  • christiaangombert

I was looking for a mimic of the stock 4.0 launcher. I loved the looks and customization in Apex, but it made my devices a bit slow. Since we are talking about the launcher, I have all the rights to say that you don’t want a slow launcher. Now I am back on Trebuchet.

  • sonicdeathmunky

I use Nova Launcher on my SGS2, but have had to change to Apex on my Nexus 7 to get 10×10 grid. I prefer to keep things as minimal as possible, so don’t care for huge amounts of fancy transitions or effects.

  • hollywoodfrodo

I like ADW EX for my phone – have used it for a long time and with the recent updates think it still holds it’s own against the others. On my tablet though after being severely disappointed by Chameleon, I chose Apex and love it! For a tablet, I think the ability to customize everything about the layout is key.

  • VerticalCobra

Always used Apex (free version). It allows much more customization compared to the others even though its free.

  • JohnnyRocket

While having used and purchased Go, Apex, ADW and Nova for some reason (can’t really put a finger on it) I keep going back to using Nova. Just feels better to me for some reason.

I’m using Next Launcher right now, it’s definitely the smoothest, nicest looking launcher on the Market. (Play Store, whatever) Just a suggestion, wait until they drop the price; it’s definitely not worth the $16 they are trying to charge for it. It has the nicest animations and consistently runs at 60 FPS.

Normally I stick with Nova launcher, I’ve been extremely happy with the paid version; but it still has some problems.

  • Puzzled by Choice

Although I love the customization offerings of the other launchers, the stock still runs the smoothest for me and as soon as I hit a few stutters or experience some lag, I go back to stock.

Currently running stock with 5 launchers chilling in the drawer. I’m waiting for Jelly Bean on my Droid Razr also. Hope it comes soon.

  • KingCrow02

GO launcher because it’s simple. I like the bottom scroll menus.

  • Teebor

I like Nova as I could customise it a lot but prefer Touchwiz as it feels nicer on a newer phone.
Stock roms with Nova just feel dirty to me (is that the right word? maybe more industrial is the right way to put it?), yet touchwiz feels nicer
