Who here is on Reddit?

Call me crazy, but the conversation on reddit.com/r/android is just better. Maybe it’s because the imaginary internet points don’t mean anything… but then again, people do crazy things for Karma.

More likely, because they put the good stuff front and center.

Iunno. I like Reddit, and, looking through these threads, I see mostly vapid discussion for the sake of discussion, much of which I imagine is only happening due to 25 days of Tegra, and little of which anybody would direct at this particular Android blog for any reason other than that the points are worth something.

Reddit is a good way to discover new sources, find a good variety of content, and have more open conversations. At least, that’s how I see it. Am I missing something?

I used to be on Reddit, but the way the Karma system works there just bugs me. If you don’t follow their hive mind you are down voted and your comment will likely never be seen. While I do agree that some of the conversation on there is good and fun, I just can’t deal with their system of voting. I’ve met quite a few people who think the same thing with regards to Reddit too.

Really? What sort of points did you make that got silenced? Most of the time I get downvoted, it’s for saying something stupid.

It’s been a good couple of years since I’ve posted so I can’t remember what they silenced me for. But a week ago I was on a thread about the massacre in Connecticut they were all raving that Adam Lanza was set up to take the blame, and that the real “shooter” was a set up by the Liberals (or as you call them in the USA Democrats). As I was browsing down the comments all the way at the bottom, was a few people stating the facts that about how Lanza was the shooter.

Yes, I go to some of the weirder places of Reddit haha.

I should add that while the front page of Reddit is normally very good with giving Karma to people, once you go to some of the darker subreddits, it’s very easy to get down voted no matter how smart what you say is. This is one reason I moved on to 4chan, despite how really weird it is everyone gets a fair say.
